Breakfast & After School Club

Woodford CE Primary School Breakfast & After School Club is committed to working in partnership with parents and carers to provide safe, stimulating and enjoyable childcare for children who attend Woodford CE Primary School.

We aim to provide a safe, caring environment for all children in our care. In extending the facilities we offer to care outside normal school hours, we will provide children with further opportunities to develop through well-planned play and creative activities supervised by qualified and experienced staff.

Times

Our Breakfast Club runs from:

  • 7.45am – 8.45am on every school day (excluding INSET days).

We offer a choice of cereal, toast with butter or jam, juice, milk and water.  Children also have access to a variety of games and puzzles.

It is held in our main hall. For entry, you must use the main entrance and ring the doorbell, situated to the right of the door, where a member of staff will open the door for you.

Our After-School Club runs from:

  • 15.15pm – 18.15pm Monday to Thursday (excluding INSET days)
  • 15.15pm -17.15pm Friday (excluding INSET days)

We offer a choice of snacks, juice, milk and water.  Children also have access to a variety of games and puzzles.

Please note that After School Club will not be available on the last Friday in each half term.

Admission criteria

Places for both the Breakfast and After School Clubs are limited in places and this varies based on the ages of the children attending.

  • Places are provided on a strict first-come-first-service basis
  • Where required, a waiting list will be maintained by the club
  • All places are subject to availability
  • The registration process must be completed prior to the child’s commencement at the club

Woodford CE Primary withholds the right under certain circumstances to withdraw the rights for parents to use the facility of Breakfast or After School Club.

  • We reserve the right to withdraw a place should payments not be made for sessions
  • Bad behaviour while attending the provision
  • Repeated non-attendance to booked sessions
  • Repeated times when a child is not collected on time

In exceptional circumstances e.g. physical or verbal abuse towards other children or staff, the place can be withdrawn with immediate effect permanently.

Planned activities

Children will be offered different activities at Breakfast Club and After-School Club and staff will be available to supervise and lead with some practical activities.

Children need time to develop their own interests and to choose whether to play or not and should have time every day when they are able to choose to play, or just have quiet time with a book, working on Home Learning or engaging suitable screen time.

Staff will ensure that children are appropriately supervised at all times, but that they are also given time to choose their own activities.

It is important that we listen to and act on the wishes of children at both clubs, providing that the suggestions are safe and appropriate.

Children may be given time each day at After-School Club to play outside (weather permitting).

Booking

To book, please login and book via Wisepay. if you have any issues, please call 01832 733221 or email

Booked session must be paid for, whether your child attends or not. The session will not be transferable.

The need to pay and book places in advance is so that the correct levels of staffing can be organised.

If unforeseen circumstances occur and you require your child to attend either of these clubs at short notice, please contact the office directly.

Payments

The charge for Breakfast Club is £3.50 per day per child from 7.45am until 8.45am.

The charge for After-School Club is £4.50 per hour per child

Collection

Parents must inform school if someone different will be collecting children from After-School Club and we will only let a child go with someone we know.

We will not allow children to go with anyone under 16 years of age.

A password must be held on file for each child which can be asked for from anyone collecting the children, but especially someone who either does not usually collect or is not named on the registration form.

If you do not inform us of someone else collecting your child, you will be contacted before we allow this person to collect your child. If we are unable to contact you, we will not allow your child to leave with this person.

Late collection

Children must be collected from After-School Club by 6.15pm Monday – Thursday or 5.15pm Friday.

If you are late collecting your child, a charge may be incurred. If this is not paid your child will not be allowed to attend the club until payment is made.

The late collection charge (after 6.15pm Monday - Thursday) is £15 per quarter (or part quarter) of an hour.

The late collection charge (after 5.15pm Friday) is £15 per quarter (or part quarter) of an hour.

We ask that you pick up your child promptly for the following reasons:

  • It is upsetting for a child to be left behind after the other children have all gone
  • Staff wellbeing is impacted because they need to stay behind and work beyond their working hours

Complaints

All complaints will follow the school’s Complaints Policy which can be found on the school website.
